Account Group Director
Position Summary
The Account Group Director is a leadership role in the development of clients' Search Marketing programs. The Account Group Director works under the direction of the Director of Client Service. This management level position is responsible for establishing and maintaining senior level client relationships and is responsible for building and managing effective teams of Search Marketing professionals. The Account Group Director is a critical role in the strategic direction and execution of search marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities
Account Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining a clear understanding contractual guidelines and business requirements
- Manage the client relationship, consistently seeking areas of opportunity for improvement and account growth. Display a strategic thinking approach to situations which may require quick efficient recommendations
- Assist in the development and oversee the execution of the client Strategic Plan in conjunction with the Account Strategist
- Oversee project timelines and deliverable schedules, monitoring progression to ensure such delivery schedules are appropriate and achieved accordingly
Team Management Responsibilities
- Manage client expectations by leading team in proactive communications
- Manage a team of Search Account Managers and Search Associates; effectively foster teamwork and drive motivation of team
- Acts as a mentor to Search Account Managers and Search Associates. Challenges Account Managers and Associates to develop as leaders while clarifying roles and responsibilities. Responsible for ensuring growth of team members in the areas of search capabilities, business acumen, and client management
- Participate in recruiting, on-boarding, development and retention of staff
- Promote the use of best practice measurement and evaluation methodologies when delivering performance evaluations to staff members
Core Competencies
- Managing, coaching and mentoring teams of 4 or more; preferably in a Search Engine Marketing role
- Strong analytical ability required in order to effectively manage the account responsibilities and maintain a clear understanding of the client’s intended focus
- Confidence, action oriented, with a keen ability to create, lead and develop plans/programs across multiple functions
- Managing client expectations, as it relates to scope of service and delivery of service
- Management of multiple large, multi-faceted projects with dynamic timelines in a fast paced environment
- Expert understanding of Search Engine Marketing/Online Marketing
- Executive communication and interaction; assessing and adjusting effective communication to audience
- Client presentations (development and delivery). Ability to effectively communicate the intended message to the audience
Education/Experience Required/Preferred
- B.A./B.S. degree required; Marketing, Business, Information Sciences, and Economics preferred
- Master’s Degree a plus
- 3+ years of Online Marketing experience with 7+ years of business and resource management experience
- Preferred areas of experience include Business Management Consulting, Online Marketing, Web Design, etc.
- Experience working with Fortune 500 companies in addition to communication exposure to high level executives of Fortune 500 companies
