Search Account Manager

  • Reports to: Senior Search Strategist

Position Summary:
IMPAQT, headquartered in a Pittsburgh suburb, is one of the country’s leading Search Engine Marketing Solutions providers. We proudly attribute our success to our core values of innovation, client focus and employee development. We are seeking a Search Account Manager to join the IMPAQT Team.

In this account management role, the individual will work with clients to develop and execute strategic and tactical initiatives to manage and improve the clients' internet search rankings of organic (natural) and paid search engine results.  The Search Account Manager will develop a thorough understanding of multiple search engine placement algorithms and paid placement services at a very detailed level, and leverage that expertise by optimizing client's sites for indexing and placement by Search Engines and expanding pay-per-click buys within the internet space. The Search Account Manager aligns all service activities and designs execution strategies based on client's specific marketing objectives and goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Account management and client service execution
  • Extensive analysis, including Excel and general website design and traffic
  • Organic and PPC campaign management
  • Client reporting
  • Works closely with and has primary relationships with search engine teams at Google, Yahoo, and MSN
  • Monitoring and maintaining search engine rankings
  • Document trends for top search engines
  • Conduct search engine research regarding clients and their competitors
  • Being on the forefront and knowledgeable of industry internet news and changes
  • Mentorship and coaching team members

  • Solid project management

  • Strong analytics
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline driven atmosphere
  • Ability to adapt and change in the high paced internet industry
  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) complex issues and recommendations to clients

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in analyzing data to develop marketing direction
  • General understanding of HTML and web technology
  • Ability to write editorial copy to describe products and services
  • Knowledge of website traffic analytics
  • Foreign language a plus

Education/Experience Required/Preferred:

  • Bachelors Degree (all majors considered, though Marketing, Communications or Technology related preferred)
  • Strong interest in Internet/Search/Online Marketing
  • Client service experience a plus
  • Data analysis experience a plus
  • Research experience a plus

Search Associate

  • Reports to the Senior Search Strategist
  • Takes direction from the Search Account Manager and Senior Search Strategist

Position Summary:

In this entry level client services role, the Search Associate will support the Search Account Manager in the development and execution of strategic and tactical initiatives designed to improve the online visibility of client Web sites within Paid and Organic (Natural) search engine results. The Search Associate will develop a thorough understanding of Organic search engine ranking algorithms and Paid search engine advertising programs to be able to identify opportunities for improvement of client Search visibility and will communicate such opportunities within client deliverables and client conference calls. The Search Associate will also work under budgetary constraints to meet client marketing objectives and return on investment (ROI) goals while assisting with the management of Paid search engine advertising campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct industry, competitive, and keyword research for Organic and Paid Search campaigns
  • Analyze Web site design, traffic patterns, and conversion data to create client deliverables and reports
  • Transfer such analyzed data into compelling presentations for clients
  • Identify opportunities to improve clients’ search engine visibility
  • Monitor and Track Paid and Organic search engine visibility
  • Assist with set-up of Paid search engine advertising accounts; assist with budget analysis
  • Monitor and adjust Paid Search keyword bids and budgets to maximize clients’ ROI goals
  • Implement and verify search engine and directory submissions
  • Participate in client conference calls
  • As it relates to campaigns, provide general administrative support to the Search Account Manager and Senior Search Strategist

Core Competencies:

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere

  • Ability to change direction on a moment’s notice and keep pace with an ever-changing industry

  • Strong interest in Internet/Search/Online Advertising
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Knowledge of Search Engine Marketing Industry
  • General understanding of HTML and Web technology
  • Ability to write compelling editorial copy to describe products and services
  • Knowledge of Web site traffic analytics software (WebTrends, NetTracker, etc)
  • Client Service experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of a foreign language
  • Data analysis experience; research experience
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)

Required Education/Experience:

  • 1-3 years in account service/marketing positions
  • Bachelors Degree (all majors considered, though Marketing, Communications or Technology related preferred)
